Finding Refuge

Reflection
Psalm 91 begins with an invitation:
“He who dwells…”
Not visits.
Not occasionally checks in.
Dwells.
God isn’t inviting us to make Him our emergency shelter only when life falls apart. He invites us to make Him our home.
Home is where we’re known.
Home is where we rest.
Home is where we return again and again.
As we remain near Him, we begin discovering something remarkable: His faithfulness becomes our confidence.
Our circumstances may not change overnight, but our perspective begins to.
God’s protection isn’t merely physical; it is deeply spiritual. We discover that nothing can separate us from His love, and that security becomes the foundation beneath every difficult season.
Reflection Questions
- What keeps me from slowing down enough to dwell with God?
- How have I experienced God’s faithfulness in the past?
- What would abiding look like today?
Prayer
Lord,
Teach me to dwell with You instead of merely visiting You. Make Your presence feel like home. Thank You that Your faithfulness is greater than my fears.
Amen
